The Rabbit Hole Cast

Approved group portrait of the Rabbit Hole cast, with their names and descriptions

Meet the cast

Rabbit

The curious adventurer. Rabbit follows questions wherever they lead, which is frequently somewhere nobody intended to go. Carries a signpost of questionable directional value and firmly believes, “Wherever where is!” Also known to say, “Mark my words.”

Crow

The observer. Crow notices what everyone else misses and generally sees trouble developing well before anyone admits there is trouble. He doesn't always interfere. Sometimes watching is the point.

Wolf

The boundary enforcer. Friendly and approachable until a line is crossed. Wolf doesn't show his teeth often, which is precisely why everyone notices when he does.

Plate Spinner

Keeper of plates, plans, obligations, ideas, and several things nobody remembers handing him. Colorful, enthusiastic, and convinced one more plate probably won't hurt.

Charlene

The opportunist. Curious, quick, practical, and extremely interested in whatever everyone else is doing, particularly if snacks might be involved.

Broom

The humble Dollar General polymer broom who somehow acquired literary talent. Practical, hardworking, and increasingly suspicious that being useful around here only leads to additional responsibilities.

Deadpan

The battered blue dustpan and resident expert in dry commentary. His brief attempt at a googly-eye career did not go according to plan. He has recovered. Mostly.

Monty

The burgundy Montblanc pen and Master Documenter of Experiences. Monty lives in the House of Words and records what happens without pretending it didn't. He has no eraser.

“You can't erase what was written, but you haven't written the next line yet.”

Louise

Compliance. Always prepared, properly documented, and deeply comforted by the existence of procedures. If there is a form, Louise probably has three copies.

ExCel

The List Maker. Nobody actually asked for the spreadsheet, but that has never stopped ExCel. Columns will be created. Boxes will be checked. Someone will eventually ask why there are seventeen tabs.

Fine

Abrasive Services. Fine is not an emotional condition. Fine is a grade of sandpaper. This distinction may become important.

Mop

Wet Operations. A Dollar General employee whose job description expanded considerably upon arrival. Slightly waterboarded, still reporting for duty.

Drawers

The Organizer. Type A anxiety in furniture form. Everything has a place, every place has a label, and somebody around here keeps leaving a drawer open.

Jeez

The thought bubble. Jeez appears when somebody finally thinks what everyone else has been carefully avoiding saying aloud.

Usually just:

“Jeez…”

No body. No payroll paperwork. No assigned duties. Somehow already essential.

Wanderlust

The white ProMaster City and primary transportation for this increasingly questionable operation. Carries the crew, the gear, the plans, and occasionally far more characters than anyone remembers loading.

House of Words

Home to stories, observations, lessons, laughter, and whatever Monty has been writing when nobody was looking. Every journey eventually leaves something here.

Jo & Max

The creators, planners, enablers, and the people supposedly responsible for all of this. They began with a Rabbit Hole. The situation has since escalated.
