FIELD-TESTED GEAR • STORED POWER

Jackery Explorer 2000 v2

Reliable stored electricity that became part of camp instead of something I had to constantly manage.

WHY I CHOSE IT

The job it needed to do

I wanted stored power I could use with confidence during a longer stay, without spending the trip watching the battery and second-guessing every ordinary electrical need.

HOW I USED IT

What it looked like at camp

During the six-day trip, it supported my camping electrical system, my personal electronic devices and my electric pot for heating water.

The solar connection was easy to use. I added a separate 20-foot cable to my system, which let me keep the Jackery where I wanted it while moving the solar blanket to the available sunlight.

WHAT I NOTICED

The part a product box cannot tell you

Operation was straightforward. The strongest compliment I can give it is that it faded into the background. I used electricity when I needed it instead of making power management the main event at camp.

The 20-foot extension cable was my own addition. It should not be mistaken for equipment included with either the Jackery or the solar blanket.
